Each year, Vestavia Girl Scouts visit Kanawahala Program Center in Chelsea. Here girls can hike, canoe, paddle board, and enjoy campfire songs and s'mores while enhancing sisterhood of Girl Scouts.
Many years ago, Service Unit 262 began a service project putting on a holiday party for the residents of Glenwood Autism and Behavioral Center. The girls sing songs, play games and present residents with gifts.
McWane Science Center has been the host to our STEM lock -in for the past several years. Girls get to do hands on science experiments and roam the adventure halls after hours.
Each year in celebration of World Thinking Day, troops research and present a country of their choosing. They offer snacks, crafts and facts to other "visitors" about their country.
The Sweetheart Dance is a fully girl-led fundraising event. Older troops plan and execute the entire event even serving as DJs and photographers. This is a very special event for our Girl Scouts.
The First Annual Badgeapalooza was held in April 2018 at McCallum park with over 100 Girl Scouts earning badges and patches together. It was a spectacular day and we can't wait for next year!
